About converting NDJSON to Markdown
A Markdown table is the fastest way to show a few log events in a place built for text: a postmortem document, a GitHub issue reporting a bug, or a runbook entry that shows what a healthy request looks like. Converting NDJSON directly saves reformatting each line by hand. Each JSON line becomes one table row, and the keys found anywhere in the file become the header.
Pick your lines first. Logs are long and wide, and a table only helps when it is short and narrow. Use Filter or Head on the NDJSON to keep the handful of events that matter, and Manage Columns to keep keys like ts, level, service and msg. The converter stops at 1,000 lines regardless, which is already far more than a reader will scan.
Log messages bring characters that Markdown cares about. A pipe inside a message is escaped as \| so it does not split the cell, and a multi-line stack trace is joined with <br> tags so it stays inside one row. Nested context objects print as JSON text in one cell, so flatten the NDJSON first if you want host or trace IDs in their own columns.

- The header row lists ts, level, service, status, latency_ms and user_id between pipes.
- Each of the four log lines becomes one table row, in file order.
- The error row has an empty user_id cell.
- Timestamps and numbers are shown exactly as they appear in the log, so 3012.4 stays 3012.4.
- Line breaks inside a message become <br>, and pipes become \|.

Frequently Asked Questions
Will stack traces break the table?
No. Line breaks inside a value are replaced with <br>, so the whole trace stays in one cell. On GitHub it renders as several lines within that cell, which can make the row very tall; consider dropping the stack key for summary tables.
How do I include only error lines?
Run Filter NDJSON with level equal to error, download the result, and convert that file. The table then contains only the events you want to discuss.
Do the table rows follow the order of the log?
Yes. Row one is the first JSON line in the file. Sort the NDJSON first if you want a different order, for example by latency_ms.
What is Markdown format?
Markdown is a lightweight plain-text format that renders as formatted content. Markdown tables can be embedded directly in README files, wikis, documentation sites, and any tool that supports CommonMark or GitHub Flavoured Markdown.
